Je Suis Dans Le Penchant De Mon Âge De Glace


Je suis dans le penchant de mon âge de glace.
Mon âme se destache et va laisser mon corps ;
En cette extremité que faut-il que je face,
Pour entrer sans frayeur dans la terre des morts ?

J'ay flatté les puissans, j'ay plastré leurs malices,
J'ay fait de mes pechez mes uniques plaisirs,
Je me suis tout entier plongé dans les delices,
Et les biens passagers ont esté mes desirs.

Tout espoir de salut me semble illegitime ;
Je suis persecuté de l'horreur de mon crime,
Et son affreuse image est toujours devant moy.

Mais, ô mon doux Sauveur, que mon ame est confuse !
Que je suis foiblement assisté de ma Foy !
Rends-tu pas innocent le Pecheur qui s'accuse ?
