Jersey City Poem by Nellekke Tak

Jersey City

You understand the trivial things
The way the rain falls hard on the roof
'It's just mathamatics, ' you said.
But no, boy.
It's something you'll never understand
Our bridge sits strong in this canal.
Running round a city of guns
My god,
And these lights,
these lights
