Jesus On The Beach Poem by Chuy Amante

One day while wandering
down by the Sea

I stopped and listened
to a long-haired,
bearded anomaly

I was there just to get some fish
but,
He instilled in me a grand life wish

For peace I'd searched many o' year
He presented The Path for all to hear

One of peace, healing, non-resistance,
lovingkindness, and to offer assistance!

One of no judgement for all others,
taught that all of mankind
were truly brothers!

Give away your stuff, feed the poor,
befriend all people even the whore

He showed a path that was narrow
It infected me right to the marrow

He taught that outside
one would not find
his kingdom
built by hands,
but spoke of one deep inside
perfectly peaceful
not by demand

He encouraged all to do as he did
even exceed it, he us bid

Be in this world but be not of it!
Upon me descend a sign
and on my shoulder
did a white dove sit

I felt his peace, freedom overcame me!

I'll always blame it
on The Man
down by the sea

I'm not one to listen to any who preach
Except that Nazarite/Essene down on the beach
