Jesus Was Not There! Poem by Royston Allen

Jesus Was Not There!

The tomb was empty and the grave was bare
for there was no body. Jesus was not there!
Risen in the power of endless life;
He'd won the victory through sacrifice.

The morn marked the dawn of a new era
Death is vanquished and the Grave holds no fear.
Finished is the work of God's loving plan
and heaven opens wide for this God Man.

As He ascends to the Ancient of Days
the angels their heavenly anthems raise.
"Worthy is the Lamb that died, " is their cry
"Worthy is the Lamb, " is the Earths reply.
