Jim's Shoes
Jim
He cried for mama.
Mama didn't come.
He didn't understand that
The woman who gave him birth
Died
As a result
Of bearing him for
Nine months.
She carried him with her heart
She proudly talked to him
Every single day.
But then,
Silence, Sadness, as he finally
Cried for the first time.
Stillness struck the air.
Later, when he was of age,
Her running shoes was his pride and joy.
He tenderly had them on Display for all to see.
When he ran his first race,
He thought of her.
His mother who bore him.
