John Dee Poem by Ima Ryma

John Dee

John Dee, Court astronomer for
Elizabeth the First did be
The Queen's main advocate for more
Strengthening of the Queen's navy.
Dee believed England should aspire
To be a superpower state.
Dee coined the term, 'British Empire.'
The Queen led Britain to be Great.
But when the Queen died, Dee did lose
All favor he had had at Court.
The new King decided to choose
Fortune tellers of other sort.

Where Dee is buried is unknown.
Sometime someone stole his gravestone.
