Joseph Becomes Ruler Poem by Doris Clore Demaree

Joseph Becomes Ruler

Joseph's father made him a beautiful coat.
His jealous brothers sold Joseph to men
Who took him to Egypt.
There he became
An important ruler.
In a dream God told him
Some day there would be no rain.
Grain would not grow.
There would be no food.
Joseph told the people to save
Part of their crops.
When the rains stopped,
There was plenty of food
For all.
