Joseph Of Arithmatea Poem by Frank Avon

Joseph Of Arithmatea

Only sixteen,
a beginner,
on a copper plate
he engraved
the evangel of England
on England's rocky shores,
some twenty years later
he engraved it again
and was still making proofs
near unto death,
'of whom the world
was not worthy.'
