Joys We Once Knew Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Joys We Once Knew

With passing of time
and poems that rhyme
on autumnal days like these
when sun and breeze
caress the trees
I write of the joys
we once knew.

How we would swoon
beneath the moon
and bathe in the ocean blue
walk hand in hand
through sun and sand
as you told of your
love so true.

A romantic tale
I remember it well and
I dream of our love constantly
you gave to me
sweet children three
each one adorned with
rosy hue.

My loyal friend
right up to the end when
dark clouds blighted our way
but I always pray
at the end of each day
that your smile will come
shining through.

So with passing time
and poems that rhyme
I tell our love story anew
on days such as these
with the sun and the breeze
I write my love song
just for you.
