July's Falling Leaf

Hey orange elm leaf
get out of this green
no time for your agony
your sadness
your death
Summer
to life, and growth and dreams
blue skies and endless sun
you are unwelcome, leaf
and no poet will be kind
to your timing
your message
your closing of our youth
