Just Like Yours Poem by Minnie Gehrig

Just Like Yours

Rating: 4.0

Mabey I am falling then,
whether up or down I dont yet know,
Like alice through the rabbit hole,
and sometimes lost in the looking glass

I search in the future,
or behind me and look over my shoulder to encompass wholly
your blue eyes smiling,
or the many hours spent picking cacti out of each others body,

How Underneth the stars, and the moon, in our dessert oasis
we made so many different kinds of love,
and you made me feel like an indian princess,

we drank whiskey and natty ice and we helped each other as we both fell into our own burning fires,
in and out again but we never scarred,

then i see me now because it is nearing the sammhain and it is that time,
the leaves are falling around our faces whispering the death of spring
winter is upon us,

and I must admit I have fallen in love again
some brown eyed boy or another,
skateboarding in and out of my dreams,
I thought i was the cat but he is slinking away now,
his eyes burning threw me just like yours did when you left.
