Just One... Poem by Onyi Ogwumike

Just One...

An everything abounding without a halt.
Skipping, running, prancing through time.
Toes skidding on the lines of a pulsing mind.
Just a push, just a shove
Into a world uninhibited by my own chained down thoughts.
A mighty gate of my own intertwining fate melded into a threshold unconquerable.
Just a line to pull me over the top
Where a final analytical glance grazes my consciousness.
Though it be too late, at last, to second guess on the first guess.
Just a sharp studded slap across the face to shatter my heart beat
So the colors of this world may shout,
Edges electrified
That I may see an everything, but never claim one for my own.
