Night And Day Poem by Onyi Ogwumike

Night And Day

A rip in the black vinyl, a rip in a union of beats unmarred
Spilling over the top into a world of discarded graces.
Many a good mind was burdened by a never ending fraction that equally fractioned their consciousness…
*CRACK*
NIGHT
Reigning over the sky, telling of a queen’s tears
Which jump to life on the electric light of a bolting breath.
Then DAY.
Heh. A curt laugh at the guilty petals of a rose stained red.
Night and Day conflicting persons.
Better to be night when the harsh truth is seen than the cowardly day which seeks for a mercy underserved.
