Has God shown you a bit of mercy
When you humbly beg and plead?
Does he know when your heart's been wounded,
Has he ever watched it bleed?
Did God send you love when you begged him,
Was he touched when you cried 'Please, God, Please'?
What have you to show for your prayers?
A lifetime spent on your knees!
Would your God rejoice if you awoke
With a smile instead of tears?
Do you think he was ever aware
Of your suffering throughout the years?
Do you think God understands the pain
We feel when night finds us alone?
How could love be considered sin?
And do we still need to atone?
Did you ever feel God hold you close,
Was your song of loneliness stilled?
Or did it become a mournful wail?
Another appeal unfulfilled!
Seriously now, do you still think
You'll continue to place your hope
In a God who just left you to drown
When he could have thrown you a rope?
Through the years, I've come to believe
We're at the mercy of fate,
Cling to hope as you say your prayers,
Just don't hold your breath while you wait
Remember, there is one consolation
As life's endless tolls become due,
Though we suffer, and tears run deep,
This won't last..... we're just passing through
Just Passing Through is a poem based on universal truth. God may be realized. Nicely envisioned. Thanks.
