Just Passing Through The Night Poem by Phoenix1 Smith

Just Passing Through The Night

In this willing canoe
gliding in still waters
in my heart I knew
this may be the last
I will be seeing you

for you have chosen
another boat to row
different way to go
I'll glide in this river
alone in my sorrow

I will sail in silence
thinking of the times
we hold each an oar
we paddle in rhyme
till we reach the shore

now you sing another song
choosing stream so strong
to propel the sea of love
who am I to insist you join me
in this one silent ride so light
to you I am just a voyager
that passes through the night..
