Just Who You Think You Are? Poem by Shavaniel Mclean

Just Who You Think You Are?

Rating: 4.0

Dramatic metamorphis
To fit in your little world
Oh just put a bolt there
A notch here
hook there
Handcuff here
Deny me
Embrace you
Lost my morals
To waddle in your good
Forget myself
To fit in your little world
My world is tainted
(well that's what you led me to think)
Dekink my skin
Cover my bones with flesh
Because you prefer meat
With just the wag of your tongue
The gutter of your heart
The corner of your mind
I'm too ready to alter
The natural contour of me
Yet still never enough
But just who you think you are?
Perhaps I'm your product
Dough
Feather
or
Dust
Vanish me in thin air
But just who you think you are?
Your world is tainted
And reeks of puss
Yellow drippings of sores of nothingness
You bore
You emphasize qualities in me
To camouflage your sense of nothingness
So I quit
Quit being you
Defamation of me
For the taint lies with you
Not with me
