Justice's Scream Poem by Amarachi Okoro

Justice's Scream

Dear motherland,
On your fertile soil we stood,
With the rush of youthful blood
In our vein,
As patriots of our generation,
We yelled for a change,
For a stop to Injustice,
We cried for a better country.

We came with no weapon
But our voices.
We raised our hands to heavens,
Flaunting our identity;
The green,
The white,
The green.

Regardless of our benign quest,
Before night's nakedness,
We were ambushed;
Bullets of cruelty rained down at us,
Our blood poured.

Our motherland's most fruitful soil,
Hungrily,
Drank of her children's blood.
Sorrowfully,
Painfully,
Our blood shrilly cry out for
JUSTICE!
😭😭😭😭😭😭
