Kamsuttra--Ii Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Kamsuttra--Ii

Why are the figures and figurines
On the panels and outer walls
Of the temples
So erotic and sensual
In love, sex and affection,
Embrace, hugs and possession?

The terracotta plates made from baked clay
With figures and figurines
In love, affection and bonding
Reflecting ‘Dharma-artha-kama-motif',
What do they mean it,
What do they denote it?

Kamsuttra, Vatsyayana's Kamsuttra,
Is it for bhoga-vilas,
What did he mean it,
How did the artisans in clay
The poses and postures,
Why did the priests approve of
Eroticism in temples?
