Katya Poem by Gracey Newman

Katya

Innocent little child
with big dreams ahead
she would have done well
but it seemed no one cared.

She went numb inside.
She hated every thing
and that is when she realised

No body cares

Who is there to pick up all the broken pieces?
When she gets scared
Who will put on the mask of bravery?
To tell her this is how life is meant to be.

Katya -
'comfort me, just comfort me'.

They watched as she drank her dreams away.
They watched her as it all went through her veins.
No one is there to wipe all her tears away.

No body cares

As she lies on the floor. Naked and bruised.
Who did this to her? Who put her through this abuse?

Katya -
' My mother never care. He used to come sneaking through my door.
He used to touch my body and force me down on the floor. He''d slide himself inside of me and he''s tell me not to scream but how could I? If inside I wasn''t there? I found a place, a place better than here.
It pulses through my veins, sending a buzz that freezes my brain. Now I understand why heroin sends a rush to my lips to help me scream Bloody Murder. Under the influence I killed him'
