Keep a watch on thy words, my darlings,
For words are wonderful things;
They are sweet like bees’ fresh honey -
Like bees they have terrible stings;
They can bless like the warm glad sunshine,
And brighten a lonely life;
They can cut in the strife of anger,
Like an open two-edged knife.

This poem was published in an old hymnal - Edward Machugh's Treasury of Gospel Hymns and Poems - publication date 1938. I found it there and was looking for the author online. I believe this authorship claim is incorrect.
