God recognizes that I’m not perfect
And he loves me just the same
I make so many mistakes, you see
But he doesn’t look on me with blame

We don’t just have one chance
In this world in which we live
For God loves us no matter what we do
And is more than willing to forgive

I think sometimes it’s much harder
For us to forgive ourselves
Too bad we can’t put our faults aside
And set them way up on a shelf

We must go along the best way we can
And God understands that too
He just keeps right on loving us
He is patient and loving and true

You know, if we just continue
To keep our faith in Him
We will always find the brightest star
Instead of the one that’s dim!
