Keep Your Word. Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

Keep Your Word.

Rating: 5.0

Don't say ‘yes' when you mean no to one
Or ‘no' when you intend it to be yes.
By doing so, though on an occasion,
It would amount to belying that person.
If you parctise it to find a way out,
It would amount to doubting your word too.
As a man of word, you must groom yourself,
Without which you cannot capture one's heart.
(influenced by Avoor Moolam Kizhar from Puranaanuru in Sangam Tamil Literature)
