Keeping Secrets Poem by Anastasia Chernous

Keeping Secrets

Rating: 4.5

Tell me! You know they won’t hurt me.
He doesn’t know and he’s right,
They are kept out of sight,
You can only hear them, and once you do you tense up.
He put you under trust,
Tell anyone, you cannot
Can’t survive but you must.
You posses something fragile to him,
He’s scared they will hurt you and he’s right to think that.
They are kept out of sight because
Someone like you might be too weak to fight against
Wanting to be free from them.
Secrets are a dangerous glossary,
They belong in other people’s property.
