Keith Poem by Jocelyn Dunbar

Keith

You are my child, a precious child
I got you in the hands of God
I am ready to have you whatever it takes
The first time I saw you,
I do not know how to handle you in
My arms but I feel so different,
I love you.

You are not feeling well the first time
You came into this world. I am worried;
I hold you tightly in my arms and
Whisper a prayer for you. I offer you
To God to get you to heal. It's amazing!
You are a forcible child, strong and talented
I'm proud to have you.

You grow up without me on your side,
I am so regretful; I missed the day you laugh
And you walk. The first of the words
You spoke. I've been absent for so many
Years in your side, all the moments to love
And kiss you, I've lost the precious time.

I pray you to open your heart to me
And start all over again.
I still have life to spend with you.
I want you to be happy and love me; because
I love you.
