Kept Faith To Keep And Know Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Kept Faith To Keep And Know

One's kept faith to keep and know.
Takes more than words,
Heard to have such faith believed.
With this to walk and talk one's faith.
As a way of life.
And not comfortably stray.
Off that path as many do.
To come back and perform the act,
Of saying what they expect...
Others will accept to hear.
Especially done,
In places where faith is a performance.
Welcomed.
Rather than felt to feel,
To know it real.

Kept faith to keep,
Is a task that has been challenged.
After being tested.
Leaving no one to guess,
One has kept to remain faithful.
No matter what was thrown on their path.
Only God knew,
Those tests to have been passed.
Leaving acts of faith unneeded to fake.
In places where the faking of faith,
Many will go to do.
But lack to prove they walk and talk it,
On a daily basis away from faces.
Not to hear them ridicule.
Demean and belittle.
To do and choose to be hypocritical.
