Kick The Can Poem by Andy Caldwell

Kick The Can

Rating: 4.5

it's a long road home
and we can't go back
to the way it was
when we were young
we played kick the can
watched the stars roll by
it was a simpler time
when we studied hard
and played outside
when the streets were safe
life was a race
we ran everywhere
playing kick the can
No you can't go back
it's not in the plan
Today the game is pain
can't play kick the can
wish I could go back
and be young again
to be whole again

I completely understand. If you have a spare couple of minutes, tryThe Slow Walk.

Elastics and skipping have been replaced by The Xbox and Play Station. : ( Where is the childhood I remember? Lost in a micro chip. Replaced are our childhood memories by electric memory cards. How sad.

Wow Andy! If you only knew how often I long for the days of the past! When kids played outside and used their imaginations to make up fun! ! ! Can still remember when TV only had about 5 channels! Glad to not be the only one who feels the old days were so much better! Thank goodness for memories! Even if they only enter our minds sporadically! ! !
