King Lear (Limerick) Poem by Kevin Patrick

King Lear (Limerick)

Back in grade 12 I read a paperback King Lear
He was impossible to like root for a Chear
The King was a scoundrel
A miser, and a mongrel
And for his namesake I wish Bill had him speared

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I remember reading it in school and finding Edmund a more likeable, which is funny because hes the main antagonists. At any rate its a good play but Lear for me never rises to real redemption.
