Kingfisher Poem by Jay Hall

Kingfisher

Rating: 3.5

Kingfisher sits on
dark mangrove limb.
Wondering if his reflection
is the Fisher King or him.
Tattered wings
and ruffled breast.
This gelded bird;
stoic at rest.
Longs for days
spent soaring free.
Not shackled to
the company tree.
