King's Day Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan

King's Day

Rating: 5.0

King's Day

This day IS a Royal Day,
as expected,
they celebrated in Rotterdam, but we were in Alkmaar
a town in North Holland, celebrating this day

full of sun and laughter and
happiness
all-day long
it was King's Day
and history,
we were in Alkmaar
really and truly!

and feast in Alkmaar,
at school, we learned: In Alkmaar begins the victory
on King's Day, we were in Alkmaar
we had feast, happiness, and Victory
with family continued this victory
