In Memoriam: Victims of 9/11 Attacks
(Homage to Longfellow)
I flew a kite up in the sky,
It disappeared, I know now why;
For I loosened the string a lot,
Gravity pulled the two apart.
I blew my freedom sky-high,
It got seared, I know now why;
For so outrageous it was,
Smashed dreams, curtains made of glass.
I flew a kite up in the sky,
It disappeared, I know now why;
For so suddenly I pulled the string,
Snapping it, the kite went plummeting.
Loosen the string of the kite flying
So long as the kite isn’t falling.
The string secure, the kite is free;
It is that pure, and it shall be.
