Knocking At The Door
an incessant knock.
a memory, a perception.
pounding at the door.
neither fact nor fiction
the knocking continues.
rhythmic, persistent.
it never goes away.
thinking, unthinking.
lost in no mans land
forgetting to laugh,
to smile, to cry.
no focus.
drifting, directionless
broken in spirit, betrayed.
untrusting.
the knocking continues.
