La Playa Poem by Lauren Meredith Gould

La Playa

Salty air, crystal blue water,
This is what you get,
When you work a little harder.
Laying out in the sun,
Relaxing and enjoying life,
While watching kids play and run.
Smelling like coconuts,
From re-applying sunscreen,
No ifs, ands, whats or buts.
Digging your feet in the sand,
Feeling it's warmth,
From the well enjoyed land.
Meeting new people and having fun,
Having long talks,
Not wanting to end and be done.
Leaving the beach, but not wanting to,
Watching the sun go down,
The sky is no longer blue.
