Lady Andrea Poem by Harish Mudaliar

Lady Andrea

Here she comes
She is coming for a kill
With more pain than ever
To rob my honest catch
To tear my vessel apart
To choke my crew to rest
Raising a 100 stone wall
Bid me to dare a fight
Teasing my frail hands
Pounding my heart of stone
Once the affable azure sea
Grown vile with her rage
Not a dropp in my regard
I march hard with hate
With my last blood pursuit
To smack back home
Each her mighty blows
Devours my strength to bits
Chipped a colossal dent
Clawed in so deep so worse
At last my voice of valor
Sinks down the sounding surf
I kneel before the wrath
To gratify my soul for peace
Offering my flesh and bones
And my curse and boon
All the laurels once she showered
Like a torrid lover of romance
Through the mass of dim clouds
Grows the shadow of death
Wrapping her arms around me
Like in the cradle, I feel
So much serene, so much joy
Dragged me through her enigma
So deep into her golden heart
I pray amidst my failing thoughts
To redeem the hope of ties
For my loved once care
Gently I rest on her lap
And slowly into the eternal sleep
