Lady in Red
Chris de Burgh
You had one, we did too.
Our ladies, in the Red.
You’d not seen so lovely till that tonight.
You never saw her shine so bright.
You saw men asking her for a dance.
You noticed, men looked for, little romance.
You want her to give them half a chance.
I saw her in the red, wearing hat.
I saw her anxiously needing hand.
I saw her standing.
She wanted what had had.
Many looked filled with lust and romance.
She waited for prince.
For others was no chance.
In Tehran she wore Red, our lady.
We lost her in changes and revolts.
From eyes she hides and is long gone.
She can live on pages, and on line.
