Landscapes Poem by Lauren Kapusta

Landscapes

Sunset over the crystal blue waters.
The shadow of the palm tree growing.
Sand slowly losing its warmth.
Silhouettes of gulls against the dulling sky.
Me, myself and I watch the beauty.

A snow-capped tower against flawless blue.
The marbled mass shines in the sun.
Silence is completely acceptable.
A wonderful hallmark of creation.
Me, myself and I watch the massive stone.

A dry ocean for miles upon miles.
Dunes offer no consolation for the eye.
A beautiful realm despite its hotness.
Hot and then cold, forever alternating.
Me, myself and I sweat happily.

Green, green as far as one could see.
Birds chirp to their mates joyfully.
Leaves dance around in the gentle wind.
Trees stand like a proud army.
Me, myself and I sit in the shade.

A black desert but absolutely beautiful.
An infinite diamond-encrusted dress.
You want to grab one but cannot.
Heavenly siblings dance around the bright mother.
Me, myself and I drift in serenity.

Five astonishing eternal landscapes.
Three people yet one person is witness.
No other soul holds my hand willingly.
A sailor of the landscapes, wandering solo.
