Late Beloved Poem by Melam Tashi Tamang

Late Beloved

The days we shared together,
Across the land of happiness and peace,
Haunts me every days and nights.

The sweetest smile of yours,
And the beautiful face that you had,
Comes in my dream every night.

I could still remember the days,
We walked along the tranquil roadside,
Holding hands of each other.

By looking at the bees on the flower,
You used to ask,
'Do you love me like bees love flowers.'

When I used to feel upset,
You used to be there to ease it,
By giving me the warmest hug.

The days of happiness went by,
And the days were not favored by god,
My heart was filled with sorrows.

The time came for us to depart,
Your mom took you away,
And I was left in the ocean of tears.

Days went by and changed into months,
And months changed into years,
Waiting for you with the hope that you'll return.

The day of your return never came,
But I kept on waiting for you,
Until I heard that you'll never return.

I never thought in my dream,
That you'll be going so faraway,
To the land of fairies.
