Laugher - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

Laugher - Lincoln Park Zoo

A laughing kookaburra who
Does like to laugh at dusk and dawn
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
I am a bird that gets it on
With my daily song tones of note
That I sing in laughter like way,
Resonating from feathered throat
Announcing each start, night and day.
My laugh is a varied mixture
Of chortle, chuckle, hoot and trill
To catch one's attention for sure,
As I laugh out from low to shrill.

In the Bird House perched in a tree,
Come dusk, come dawn, comes laughing me.
