A laughing kookaburra, I
Do make a raucous sound I do,
With tendency to amplify
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo.
First a hiccuping chuckle low,
And then I do throw back my head,
Letting lots of loud "laughter" flow,
Throughout the land and air to spread.
Come to the Bird House and you may
Get the chance my "laughter' to hear,
Filling your head with such array
Of awe and wonder as you near.
It is a "laughing" matter that
I "laugh" throughout my habitat.
Beautiful poem having touching expression and nice collocation. thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed reading this poem. It brought me back to my past when studying in Brisbane, living in a dorm surrounded by woods and bushes. Especially at early down, while doing my papers, I would hear those sad, yearning sound of kookaburras, breaking through the silence of night. It stays with me.
