~le Cahier Poem by Mike Finley

~le Cahier

Why is it so easy
So necessary
To sow this wirebound field
With stupid seed?

When I am home the brain
Stirs thickly as a drink
The fish do not plash
In bright coils.

But here among the briars
Where life is not on trial
We carefully document
Every odd moment.
