Leaf Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Leaf

Leaf

I chased a dry leaf down a sidewalk
And didn't know why.
It rolled itself around
And itself didn't know why.

The leaf and I were somehow
Destined to meet on the ground.
It kept twirling and floating all around.
I kept chasing it.

The meaning of these actions
I still didn't know
Though I felt fun inside me grow.
It rolled down and I chased it.

I chased a dry leaf down the sidewalk
And didn't know why.
I didn't have to know to wonder why.
It was all just in the fun.
