Learning Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Learning

Accompanying an attempt to learn a new skill
Are the softly spoken words from the master…
Attended by a book written by the exceptional
As a wobbling mind spins slowly… fearing disaster

With a breath held tightly within a shallow chest
Timid toes dip into a stream of unexplored waters
At first the sensation is frigid until acclamation begins
Soon progress topples as confidence abruptly falters

The steps taken led to a detour of disastrous mistakes…
Retrace your tracks while searching for revealing clues
Finding an intersection where you should have turned left
Highlighting the correct path… alleviating another review

Now the motions of success are made more effortlessly
The cloth of accomplishment is taking shape with ease
A distressed heart is now beating with a calmer rhythm
Worries of failure have vanished with a refreshing breeze
