Learning Each Day Poem by Destiny Sexton

Learning Each Day

There I was standing on the cold, wet, winter road.
The road where you left me all alone for even my tears to freeze.

Tears streaming down my face as if they were some form of code.
I thought these tears would last forever.

Then I realized nothing lasts forever. You showed me that.
By letting go, you showed me moving on was indeed in the plan.

I always talked about how I never wanted you to leave. For you to just walk all over me like a mat.
Now that you are gone, I realized that you were never what I needed all along.

One day, you may realize how bad you hurt me
But on that same day, I'll look at you and simply laugh

Brcause you are now,
And forever will be a part of my past.
