Left Out Poem by Tashonda Elsammak

Left Out

Rating: 5.0

Wait I have an idea I have a suggestion
O! You don't want to hear it? O yea I forgot I'm not like you or like them

Please hear and listen to what I have to say! Don't shut me out don't cast me away

I sit I think I wonder should I take a stand should I speak will they listen will they pay attention to me

My mouth opens with a smile as I begin to let my words flow then my mouth shut with disappointment and my smile fades as the people wave and keep on walking as if I was was not there day after day

Why won't you listen to me? Why won't you pay attention? I shout and shout
They can not hear me I am not like them I would not wish for an enemy to feel the feeling of being left out

Let me in! Let me join you but in my own way! Let me feel important instead of sitting silently in the back like an empty vessel with so much to share

I sit and I think one day they will listen one day they will care
