Lesser Place Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Lesser Place

Long ago the great old man had left me,
In my childhood days he was so dear to me,
Now I can't remember his stature at all,
He is vague and obscure in my eyes,
But his prolific words and advices still ring in my ears
And those are very prominent and effective in my mind even today.
The great man used to sit in that cosy arm-chair which is still there.....in front of my eyes,
So many people come and sit in that chair,
But no one is equal to his class and calibre;
It's hard to believe that the wise man is no more,
He is always living and relevant in my eyes,
He is an eternal source of inspiration,
Without him the world is definitely a lesser place to me.
