Lesson Poem by ANJANDEV ROY

Lesson

The young man was running towards the moving train
To commit suicide,
The stranger caught him and saved him narrowly,
Being furious, the man said to him,
"Leave me,
I am frustrated and dejected in my life,
I will no longer live in this hell."
The stranger slapped him and said,
"Yonder you can see the beggar,
He is blind, completely blind,
Moreover he is lame and walking on the crutch,
Still he is begging with a smiling face
And not complaining at all about his serious trouble,
Look at his joyous attitude,
You are so much young and strong, but mentally weak and frail;
Don't whine,
See the surrounding and give up your selfish attitude,
With an optimistic and positive view
Try to live in this world gladly and joyously,
The world will be a beautiful place for you too."
The young man listened to the stranger's advice with rapt attention
And understood his fault,
He felt extremely ashamed,
Politely he said to the stranger,
"Oh! yes, I have certainly learnt a fruitful lesson."
