Let Be Poem by Laurence Overmire

Let Be

"He would have proved most royal
Had he been put on" ~ Wm. Shakespeare

But young Hamlet
Never reached the throne
Potentials lost in the dram of

Politics

His short life foiled
Treachery laced in a poisoned
Touch

A gaming room of doors
Without escape

We might well wonder
What could have been

But life, like an Old King
Plotting
Has its own ambitions

Often contrary, to the best
Fulfillment of our own.

~ Laurence Overmire
