Treasure Island

Let me go

You say speak my mind
but then you say my judgment is clouded
You want me to pretend
bring my false happiness to the surface
You call me your angel, your love
but when i think back to what you have done
I was never your love
What do you want from me?
I cannot be everything you want me to be
You are not like me
Just as I am not like you
When I do what I think is right
You say I am wrong
Focus on you
Do what you say is right
What exactly do you want from me?
As I try harder to break free
You weaken me
When I fight to go forward
You always pull me back
Wanting to be released
But knowing you won't let go
Things will not be what you always want
Not even me
So let me BREATHE!

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
