Let The Children Be Poem by Rey Benipayo

Let The Children Be

In this age, nothing's impossible
Everything's on our side without any help
Knowledge is all around
Even if you're in bed
Thanks to the internet
Everything's accessible

That's why I'm not surprise
Unlike my generation, my childhood
Where there's no internet
That you should be perseverance
On gaining knowledge
On everything on your every day life

This generation of children
Is different from my generation
They're more knowledgeable
More vivid on everything
And wiser on every aspect

That's why for they're curiosity
The ego of sins and mistakes
Will make any felony in the community
I'm not saying all of them
But some of them may have a tendency
They are prone if misguided
Or neglected by a parent or a guardian

Let the age of lawbreaker sentence the child
Who committed any kinds of offense
Not that they will put to jail
But through an institution
Who will right the deed of offense
Who will change they're lives
To be a good citizen

On this age, it's not impossible
If syndicate or any criminals
May use them to make any offense
For they know, they're excepted
Children may also use the law
As an excuse, as an alibi

So give them a liability
A responsibility as a young citizen
To make them aware and careful
Of whatever they're doing
The law must not excuse anyone
Even our child, the future of the country

Otherwise, give them more freedom
Let them do what they want
Without any thoughts and fear
For they're raw and innocent
Excuse them for all the wrong deeds
And make them a pain to our society
Let the children be a future criminals!
