It’s not what you are thinking
Not even what you feel
But rather a reminder
That it’s ok to heal

The wound has long been open
Though tended too in kind
A painful soft reminder
Of the shadows in your mind

Don’t upset the balance
By what you feel in side
It’s always near the surface
Though something you could hide

No longer can you ignore it
It will not go away
You’re moving towards the answer
And you’ll grow closer every day
