The Vedas and Bhagavat Gita
designate and explain that
water is divine and life.
A sine quality non
for all beings to
survive, flourish and rise.
Science refers water
as universal solvent,
makes up more than
half of our body,
takes very active part
in regulating all systems.
So scarcity of water
can cause havoc and
we humans should be conscious,
serious regarding the outcomes.
The United Nations predicts
that the world would have
half the water it needs by
the year two thousand forty.
Unfortunately this tragedy
would take place in India
in two thousand thirty.
The solution to tide over
this crisis is simple,
needs our concerted endeavor.
We should stop draining
tons of toxic and poisonous
industrial, domestic effluents
into the bodies of water.
The meat industry is the
primary contributor
to pollution of air, water,
and land mass.
It requires vast amount
of water, land and food grains.
Twenty one thousand litres
of water are required to
produce one kilogram meat
while five hundred litres are
for the same amount of wheat.
The bacteria, the pesticides,
antibiotics concentrated in
animal flesh are also found
in their excrements,
ultimately flow to water bodies
to pollute, deplete and delete.
As per world watch institute
twenty percent of methane
gas emission world wide
are produced by animals
reared for food.
This green house gas
is the cause of global warming
and vicissitude.
What to purchase, wear and eat
directly impact our climate change that seriously
affect water cycle.
We must realize that we survive
on the production of
the fields and depending
on industries would be a debacle.
Simply going vegetarian,
eating organic only when urgent
may help preserving water
in our planet for present and future.
Hence let us live simply,
consciously, nonviolently,
not pumping our
earth's aquifers to produce
grains and use those for
rearing animals in
our motto of more and more.

Water is a basic need, we must preserve it. A marvelous poem of great insight. Well expressed.
